In the spring of 2008, after a long career, this husband and wife decided to begin their retirement. A few months later, on September 13, 2008, Hurricane Ike sent a 9′ wave of water through their home. Since the storm, they have saved their pennies and done as many repairs as they physically were able. Our volunteers are now in place to help them complete the repairs, install their appliances, and put Hurricane Ike behind them.
