Spring Branch Presbyterian Youth make a difference on Bolivar!
17 Senior High and Middle School youth from Spring Branch Presbyterian Church traveled to the Presbytery of New Covenant Retreat Center on High Island and spent a week helping the Bolivar Peninsula communities recover after Hurricane Ike swept most homes on the peninsula off the map. The Youth Mission Team worked in partnership with Bolivar Peninsula Community Outreach (BPCO) to help sort and organize more than 11,000 boxes of food and clothing donated to Second Going, BPCO’s thrift store and food pantry on Crystal Beach. The Spring Branch Presbyterian Youth are led by Mission Team Sponsor Chuck Davidson and Pastor Rev. Dr. Laurie Murphy.
