About Us
On September 14, 2008 the third largest storm to hit the US mainland struck the Texas Gulf Coast. The Presbytery of New Covenant committed to be involved in the long-term restoration of lives, churches, and homes. In spite of the lack of media attention and comparatively low public contributions (1% of what was received after Katrina/Rita) our resolve remains high to provide resources for those who have little or no resources to recover from the devastating effects of this storm.
Our recovery efforts, guided by the core values of Christian Discipleship, coordinate the Presbyterian Volunteer Villages in Texas City and Port Neches and other opportunities for service with Long Term Recovery Organizations throughout the Presbytery’s 38 counties.
How to support Hurricane Ike Long Term Recovery:
- Pray for strength and encouragement for all affected by the Hurricanes
- Send Mission Teams to volunteer for recovery projects
- Donate Funds to facilitate the ongoing work of hurricane recovery
